Debugging, Agents and EF Core
This edition covers memory dumps, cancellation failures, agent evaluation, EF Core read paths, Aspire hosting, WPF spreadsheets, and .NET 10 APIs.
Jasen's top three picks
- 1 Creating a memory dump in C#
C# Digest - [email protected] (Jakub Chodounsky)
when an app crashes or hangs, logs alone often don't reveal the whole story
- 2 Async/Await in C#: What .NET Interviews Actually Ask
Medium - Anchalmehandiratta
Async/await is one of the most misunderstood topics in C#, and interviewers know it.
- 3 The timeout that never fired
Josef Ottosson
One if, two bugs: wrongly disposing a cancellation token source can lead to...some fun bugs.
Editor's note
I pulled together a deliberately broad set today, from crash investigation to agent tooling and desktop spreadsheet work. The cancellation-token timeout bug is a useful reminder that disposal timing can undermine otherwise sensible async code. I also flagged the Result pattern discussion because its benchmarks and .NET 10 context help separate a useful convention from cargo-cult architecture.
