Editor's note
I kept this one intentionally mixed: security-minded framework change guidance, practical observability, and a few interview-focused pieces. The BinaryFormatter removal article matters because it helps teams plan .NET 9 upgrades without surprises, and the Serilog/App Insights logging piece is a useful walkthrough for day-to-day app telemetry. MessagePack is also a smart library pick when Redis-heavy workloads need faster serialization.

.NET Library of The Week
We’re going with MessagePack as this week’s library. I’ve had a number of production applications that required high-volume Redis caching and let me tell you .. nothing tests your serializers like Redis. The implementation is a little painful but once you get it working right, MessagePack is hands down the best serializer on the market.
